What I realized during COVID-19...

2020 is come in like a world wind. I”m not going to try and recap the first quarter of the year. It’s been utterly unbelievable.

I’ve been clutching my pearls for weeks as the COVID-19 virus has taken a grip on the world. As, a lot of people I’ve been working remotely for weeks and don’t know truly when I’ll return back to the corporate office. Honestly, I’ve enjoyed working remotely and having the shortest commute from my bed to my home office! (praise hands)

On the other hand…I’ve been over-run with content!!! It’s a lot of information 24/7 except for DJ D NICE spinning the hits!!! Here are some things I’ve realized in the last several days.

  • There is so much content that it’s overwhelming, I feel “tone deaf “to all the information.

    • news

    • emails

    • Facebook LIVE

    • IG LIVE

    • Webniars

    • videos

    • conference calls

    • various social platforms

  • I’ve taken inventory of what, why, how and I eat and what is necessary. I’m going to replenish what I’m eating only.

  • I enjoy my own company! (low-key introvert)

  • Opening up the blinds and windows to let the sunlight and spring breeze into my home. I’m happier with the natural light and fresh air.

  • Going outside hasn’t been cancelled. I’ve been going running a lot more since I don't have to commute in the Atlanta traffic.

  • The phrase…”this really could have been an email” is a true statement! Working remotely has shown that a lot of meetings could really be communicated via email.

  • I work, think and focus better than “running” from meeting to meeting.

  • I don't wear make-up!!!! (praise hands again)

  • All I need is 5 clean shirts, 3 pairs of legging, 2 pairs of sweat pants, a scarf, gel and edge control and is right in the world. (giggling)

  • Refocusing on my vision board and aligning what I’m working on to develop some “quick wins” that can move me forward in 2020.

  • Flight are CHEAP! Do yourself a favor and purchase a ticket for a trip in the future while the prices are low low!

This pandemic has changed the culture forever. I don’t know what the future will hold, but I know who hold my future. Focus on what you can control, improve and nurture during this time.
